Brest, in France, is the reference point for marine science and is the center of the 60% of French research in the field. For this reason, every two years it gathers leading experts in the various disciplines of science and technology related to the sea.
Since its launch in 1999, the Sea Tech Week has had increasing success, attracting more than a thousand delegates, 40% from abroad, and becoming one of the largest gatherings in the field of marine science.
In partnership with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the event is the result of the work of the research organizations present in Brest: Ifremer, ENSTA Bretagne, UBO, Telecom Bretagne, etc.
Researchers, economists, lawyers and representatives of industry and institutions come together to provide an update on the latest scientific discoveries, technological advances and economic and legal issues in the sector.
For five days, Sea Tech Week becomes a place in which to exchange views and find opportunities with both scientific and technological lectures and workshops, and with the organization of a business fair and B2B meetings.
The 2014 edition of the Sea Tech Week will focus in particular on the challenges of the deep sea sector, with the organization of the main conference “Deep Blue Days”.
Sea Tech Week is organized by Brest Métropole Océane Urban Council in collaboration with local public services.
